In even what respect is their testimony not consistent?
“And some stood up and bore
false witness against him, saying, “We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this
temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not
made with hands’” (Mark 14:57-58).
How many give inconsistent, false testimony against Jesus?
“For many were giving false
testimony against Him, but their testimony was not consistent” (Mark 14:56).

Father,
You are the God of truth, and Your Word is true. Glory
and thanks to You through Jesus for the gift of Your Word and the testimony of
Jesus in the Bible, for all Scripture is breathed out by You and profitable for
teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. Your
Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Thank You for the ministry
of the Holy Spirit, which is glorious in our midst, bringing many sons and
daughters to glory through Jesus. Glory to You for Your free gift of abounding
grace. Thank You for the Gospel, which is Your power for the salvation of
everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Gentile. Thank You for
the wisdom and word of the cross, which is Your power to us who are being saved.
Thank you for Your truth that never changes, for You are true and immutable. May
You strengthen the redeemed to stand firm in the grace, love, and truth of
Jesus, watching wisely and alertly for His appearing, keeping His commands, and
continuing in Your lovingkindness. May You cause eyes to open, so that they may
turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to You, that they may
receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith
in Jesus. Glory to You through Jesus, the Way, the Truth, the Life.
In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
