“and the face-cloth which had been on His head” (John 20:7).

•       σουδάριον (soudarion) ("face-cloth")

Where is the face cloth not lying?

“…not lying with the linen wrappings…” (John 20:7).

•       ὀθονίων (othoniōn) (“linen wrappings”)

Where is the face cloth lying?

“…but rolled up in a place by itself” (John 20:7).

•       έντετυλιγμένον (entetyligmenon) Neuter Accusative Singular Perfect  Middle/Passive Participle of έντυλίσσω

o  “John draws attention to the care that has been taken in the way the tomb is left. The phrase “folded up” (niv) may actually mean “rolled up” (entylissō), which either points to neatness or indicates that the cloth is still in the exact same position as when Jesus’ body was wrapped in it. This rules out grave robbers, who would have acted in haste (and probably taken these items with them). Also, it renders the Jewish story of the disciples’ stealing Jesus’ body implausible, because they likewise would hardly have left the face cloth and linen wrappings behind.”
