Mark 15:44-45 Pilate wondered if He was dead by this time, and summoning the centurion, he questioned him as to whether He was already dead. And ascertaining this from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.

Mark 15:44-45 Pilate wondered if He was dead by this time, and summoning the centurion, he questioned him as to whether He was already dead.  And ascertaining this from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.

What is the response to Joseph’s request for Jesus’ body?

“Pilate wondered if He was dead by this time…” (Mark 15:44).

Why does Pilate summon the centurion?

“…he questioned him as to whether He was already dead” (Mark 15:44).

What is granted after ascertaining this from the centurion?

“…he granted the body to Joseph” (Mark 15:45).

Father,

The Messiah died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and He was buried, and He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

While we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man, though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But You demonstrate Your own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to You through the death of Your Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only this, but we also exult in You through our Lord Yeshua Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Glory to You and to the powerful Name of Yeshua Messiah!

 In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
