John 20:8 So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also
entered, and he saw and believed.
Who had entered the tomb first and seen the linen
wrappings and face-cloth which had been on Jesus’ head?
“And so Simon Peter also
came, following him, and entered the tomb…” (John 20:6).
Who comes first to the tomb and enters after Simon Peter?
“So the other disciple who
had first come to the tomb then also entered…” (John 20:8).
What does the other disciple do when he enters the
tomb?
“…and he saw…” (John 20:8).
What happens after the disciple enters the tomb and
sees?
“…and he saw and believed”
(John 20:8).
- What do Jesus’ disciples remember and believe after Jesus was raised from the dead?
o John 2:18 The Jews then said
to Him, “ What sign do You show us as your authority for doing these things?” 19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this
temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 The
Jews then said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three
days?” 21 But He was speaking of the temple of His body. 22 So when He was raised from the dead, His
disciples remembered that He said this; and they
believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had
spoken.
- What is the result of believing in the Son of God?
o Mark 9:23 And Jesus said to him, “‘If You can?’ All
things are possible to him who believes.”

who has disbelieved shall be condemned.

you, he who believes has eternal life.
o John 7:38 “He who believes in Me, as
the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost
being will flow rivers of living water.’” 39 But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in
Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
o John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “ I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will
live even if he dies, 26 and everyone who
lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” 27 She said to Him, “Yes, Lord; I have believed that
You are the Christ, the Son of God, even He who comes into the world.”
o John 11:40 Jesus
said to her, “ Did I not say to you that if you
believe, you will see the glory of God?”

believe
in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light...”

into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in
darkness.
o John 14:10 “Do you not believe that I
am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak
on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. 11 “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in
Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. 12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the
works that I do, he will do also; and greater
works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.

Christ, the Son of God; and that believing
you may have life in His name.

witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him
receives forgiveness of sins.”
o Acts 13:39 and
through Him everyone who believes is freed
from all things, from which you could not be freed
through the Law of Moses.
o Rom. 1:16 For I am not ashamed
of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to
everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
o Rom. 3:22 even
the righteousness of God through faith
in
Jesus Christ for all those
who believe; for there is no distinction;
o Rom. 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God
raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the
mouth he confesses, resulting in
salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “ WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.”
o Rom. 11:23 And they also, if they do not continue in
their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
o Gal. 2:16 nevertheless knowing that a man is not
justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we
have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith
in Christ and not by the works of the
Law; since by the works of the Law no
flesh will be justified.
§ Gal. 3:6 Even so Abraham
BELIEVED
GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.
o Eph. 1:13 In
Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your
salvation — having also believed, you
were sealed in
Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,
o 1Th. 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and
rose again, even so God will bring with Him those
who have fallen asleep in Jesus.
o 2Th. 1:10 when He comes to be glorified in His
saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who
have believed — for our testimony to you was believed.
o 2Tim. 1:12 For this reason I also suffer these
things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom
I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted
to Him until that day.
o 1Pet. 1:8 and though you have not seen Him, you love

“ BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A CHOICE STONE, A
PRECIOUS
CORNER stone, AND HE WHO BELIEVES
IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.”
· What is the
result of not believing in the Son of God?
o Luke 10:16 “ The one who listens to you listens to
Me, and the one who rejects you rejects Me; and he
who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.
o Luke 13:3 “I tell you, no, but
unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
o John 3:18 “ He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has
been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.
o 1John 5:10 The one who believes in the Son of God
has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar,
because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His
Son
Father,
As Moses lifted up the serpent in the
wilderness, even so the Son of Man was lifted up, so that whoever believes will
in Him have eternal life. For You so loved the world, that You gave Your only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal
life. For You did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that
the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Jesus is not judged;
he who does not believe has been judged already because he has not believed in
the name of the only begotten Son of God.
May eyes be opened so that they may turn from
darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to You, that they may receive
forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by
faith in Jesus. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
