Rev.
8:8 The second angel sounded, and something
like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; and a third of
the sea became blood, 9 and a third of the
creatures which were in the sea and had life, died; and a third of the ships
were destroyed.
Who sounded the second
trumpet? (8:8)
the
second angel
What happens after the second
trumpet is sounded? (8:8)
“something like a great mountain burning
with fire was thrown into the sea . . .” (8:8).
What things were impacted
when the burning mountain was thrown into the sea? How were they impacted? (8:8-9)
1/3
of the sea became blood
1/3
of the sea creatures died
1/3
of the ships were destroyed
What impresses you about the
second trumpet?
The
magnitude of the great mountain burning with fire is revealed in its
devastation of 1/3 of the sea, 1/3 of the creatures, and 1/3 of the ships when
it is thrown into the sea.
What do you learn about God
from Rev 8:8-9?
God
created all things and God has the power to destroy the work of His hands.
How could this transform your
life?
Acknowledge
and worship God as Creator, reverencing His eternal power and divine nature,
and give Him thanks.
Creator and Sustainer,
Glory and thanks to You,
Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus, for creating all things and for
sustaining the living during this present age. Since the creation of the world,
Your invisible attributes, Your eternal power and divine nature, have been
clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that people are
without excuse. Judgment will come like a thief upon those who have exchanged
Your incorruptible glory for images in the form of corruptible man, birds,
four-footed animals, and crawling creatures. They exchanged Your truth for a lie,
and worship and serve the creature rather than You, the Creator, who is blessed
forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
