“He has made My mouth like a sharp sword” 

וַיָּ֤שֶׂם פִּי֙ כְּחֶ֣רֶב חַדָּ֔ה (wayāsem piy kǝcherev chaddā) 

A Select Arrow חֵ֣ץ בָּר֔וּר (chētz bārūr)

“Listen to Me, O islands, and pay attention, you peoples from afar. 

The LORD called Me from the womb; 

from the body of My mother 

He named Me. 

He has made My mouth like a sharp sword, 

in the shadow of His hand 

He has concealed Me; 

and He has also made Me a select arrow, 

He has hidden Me in His quiver” 

(Isa. 49:1-2).

שִׁמְע֤וּ אִיִּים֙ אֵלַ֔י וְהַקְשִׁ֥יבוּ לְאֻמִּ֖ים מֵרָח֑וֹק יְהוָה֙ מִבֶּ֣טֶן קְרָאָ֔נִי מִמְּעֵ֥י אִמִּ֖י הִזְכִּ֥יר שְׁמִֽי׃  וַיָּ֤שֶׂם פִּי֙ כְּחֶ֣רֶב חַדָּ֔ה בְּצֵ֥ל יָד֖וֹ הֶחְבִּיאָ֑נִי וַיְשִׂימֵ֙נִי֙ לְחֵ֣ץ בָּר֔וּר בְּאַשְׁפָּת֖וֹ הִסְתִּירָֽנִי׃

“But with righteousness He will judge the poor, and decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth; and He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked” (Isa. 11:4).

“I have put My words in your mouth and have covered you with the shadow of My hand, to establish the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, ‘You are My people.’” (Isa. 51:16).

“Sun and moon stood in their places; they went away at the light of Your arrows, at the radiance of Your gleaming spear” (Hab. 3:11).

“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart” (Heb. 4:12).

“In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength” (Rev. 1:16).

“And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: the One who has the sharp two-edged sword says this” (Rev. 2:12).

“Therefore repent; or else I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword of My mouth” (Rev. 2:16).

Is. 51:16 וָאָשִׂ֤ים דְּבָרַי֙ בְּפִ֔יךָ וּבְצֵ֥ל יָדִ֖י כִּסִּיתִ֑יךָ לִנְטֹ֤עַ שָׁמַ֙יִם֙ וְלִיסֹ֣ד אָ֔רֶץ וְלֵאמֹ֥ר לְצִיּ֖וֹן עַמִּי־אָֽתָּה׃ ס

Hab. 3:11 שֶׁ֥מֶשׁ יָרֵ֖חַ עָ֣מַד זְבֻ֑לָה לְא֤וֹר חִצֶּ֙יךָ֙ יְהַלֵּ֔כוּ לְנֹ֖גַהּ בְּרַ֥ק חֲנִיתֶֽךָ׃

(Heb. 4:12 (MHNT שֶׁהֲרֵי דְּבַר הָאֱלֹהִים חַי וּפוֹעֵל, וְחַד הוּא מֵחֶרֶב פִּיפִיּוֹת וְחוֹדֵר עַד לְהַבְדִּיל בֵּין נֶפֶשׁ לְרוּחַ וּבֵין פְּרָקִים לְמֹחַ הָעֲצָמוֹת, וּבוֹחֵן מַחְשְׁבוֹת הַלֵּב וְכַוָּנוֹתָיו.

‎Rev. 1:16‏ בְּיַד יְמִינוֹ שִׁבְעָה כּוֹכָבִים; מִפִּיו יוֹצֵאת חֶרֶב פִּיפִיּוֹת חַדָּה, וּפָנָיו כַּשֶּׁמֶשׁ הַמְּאִירָה בִּגְבוּרָתָהּ. 

‎Rev. 2:12‏ אֶל מַלְאַךְ קְהִלַּת פֶּרְגָמוֹס כְּתֹב: 

אֶת אֵלֶּה הַדְּבָרִים אוֹמֵר זֶה אֲשֶׁר לוֹ חֶרֶב הַפִּיפִיּוֹת הַחַדָּה:

‎Rev. 2:16‏ לָכֵן חֲזֹר בִּתְשׁוּבָה; שֶׁאִם לֹא כֵן, אָבוֹא אֵלֶיךָ מַהֵר וְאֶלָּחֵם בָּהֶם בְּחֶרֶב פִּי.
