Your King מַלְכֵּךְ֙ 

(malkhēkh)

Just/Righteous צַדִּ֥יק 

(tzaddīq) 

Endowed with Salvation 

נוֹשָׁ֖ע (nōsha⁽)

Humble 

עָנִי֙ (⁽anīy) 

Mounted on a Donkey 

רֹכֵ֣ב עַל־חֲמ֔וֹר (rōhkēv ⁽al chamōr)

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! 

Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! 

Behold, 

your king 

is coming to you; 

He is 

just 

and 

endowed with salvation, 

humble, 

and mounted on a donkey, 

even on a colt, 

the foal of a donkey. 

I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim 

and the horse from Jerusalem; 

and the bow of war will be cut off. 

And He will speak peace to the nations; 

and His dominion will be from sea to sea, 

and from the River to the ends of the earth” 

(Zech. 9:9-10).

גִּילִ֨י מְאֹ֜ד בַּת־צִיּ֗וֹן הָרִ֙יעִי֙ בַּ֣ת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם הִנֵּ֤ה מַלְכֵּךְ֙ יָ֣בוֹא לָ֔ךְ צַדִּ֥יק וְנוֹשָׁ֖ע ה֑וּא עָנִי֙ וְרֹכֵ֣ב עַל־חֲמ֔וֹר וְעַל־עַ֖יִר בֶּן־אֲתֹנֽוֹת׃ וְהִכְרַתִּי־רֶ֣כֶב מֵאֶפְרַ֗יִם וְסוּס֙ מִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם וְנִכְרְתָה֙ קֶ֣שֶׁת מִלְחָמָ֔ה וְדִבֶּ֥ר שָׁל֖וֹם לַגּוֹיִ֑ם וּמָשְׁלוֹ֙ מִיָּ֣ם עַד־יָ֔ם וּמִנָּהָ֖ר עַד־אַפְסֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃

“The LORD says to my Lord: ‘Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet’” (Psa. 110:1).

“But I will have compassion on the house of Judah and deliver them by the LORD their God, and will not deliver them by bow, sword, battle, horses or horsemen” (Hos. 1:7).

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matt. 11:28-30).

“SAY TO THE DAUGHTER OF ZION, ‘BEHOLD YOUR KING IS COMING TO YOU, GENTLE, AND MOUNTED ON A DONKEY, EVEN ON A COLT, THE FOAL OF A BEAST OF BURDEN’” (Matt. 21:5).

“On the next day the large crowd who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout, ‘Hosanna! BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, even the King of Israel.’ Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written, ‘FEAR NOT, DAUGHTER OF ZION; BEHOLD, YOUR KING IS COMING, SEATED ON A DONKEY’S COLT’” (John 12:12-15).

(Psa. 110:1 (BHS לְדָוִ֗ד מִ֫זְמ֥וֹר נְאֻ֤ם יְהוָ֨ה ׀ לַֽאדֹנִ֗י שֵׁ֥ב לִֽימִינִ֑י עַד־אָשִׁ֥ית אֹ֝יְבֶ֗יךָ הֲדֹ֣ם לְרַגְלֶֽיךָ׃

Hos. 1:7  וְאֶת־בֵּ֤ית יְהוּדָה֙ אֲרַחֵ֔ם וְהֽוֹשַׁעְתִּ֖ים בַּיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם וְלֹ֣א אֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֗ם בְּקֶ֤שֶׁת וּבְחֶ֙רֶב֙ וּבְמִלְחָמָ֔ה בְּסוּסִ֖ים וּבְפָרָשִֽׁים׃

(Matt 11:28 (MHNT‏ בּוֹאוּ אֵלַי כָּל הָעֲמֵלִים וְהָעֲמוּסִים וַאֲנִי אַמְצִיא לָכֶם מְנוּחָה.  ‎29‏ קְחוּ עֲלֵיכֶם אֶת עֻלִּי וְלִמְדוּ מִמֶּנִּי, כִּי עָנָו אֲנִי וּנְמוּךְ רוּחַ; תִּמְצְאוּ מַרְגּוֹעַ לְנַפְשׁוֹתֵיכֶם,  ‎30‏ כִּי עֻלִּי נָעִים וְקַל מַשָׂאִי.“ 

Matt. 21:5 ”אִמְרוּ לְבַת־צִיּוֹן: הִנֵּה מַלְכֵּךְ יָבוֹא לָךְ, עָנִי וְרֹכֵב עַל־חֲמוֹר וְעַל־עַיִר בֶּן־אֲתֹנוֹת.“

John 12:12‏ לְמָחֳרָת שָׁמְעוּ הֲמוֹנֵי הָעָם שֶׁבָּאוּ לֶחָג כִּי יֵשׁוּעַ עוֹמֵד לָבוֹא לִירוּשָׁלַיִם.  ‎13‏ לָקְחוּ כַּפּוֹת תְּמָרִים וְיָצְאוּ לִקְרָאתוֹ כְּשֶׁהֵם קוֹרְאִים: ”הוֹשַׁע נָא! בָּרוּךְ הַבָּא בְּשֵׁם יהוה! מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל!“  ‎14‏ יֵשׁוּעַ מָצָא קֹדֶם לָכֵן עַיִר וְיָשַׁב עָלָיו, לְפִי הַכָּתוּב:  ‎15‏ ”אַל תִּירְאִי בַּת־צִיּוֹן, הִנֵּה מַלְכֵּךְ יָבוֹא לָךְ רֹכֵב עַל־עַיִר בֶּן־אֲתוֹנוֹת.“
