Prayer and Bible Expo

Messianic Texts (12th century B.C.)

Faithful Priest
(כֹּהֵ֣ן נֶאֱמָ֔ן) (cohen ne⁾eman)

‘But I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who will do according to what is in My heart and in My soul; and I will build him an enduring house, and he will walk before My anointed always.’”  (1 Sam. 2:35)

“The LORD has sworn and will not change His mind,
‘You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.’” (Psa. 110:4)

“Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.” (Heb. 2:17)

“just as He says also in another passage,
‘YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER
ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK.’” (Heb. 5:6)

“And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written,
‘KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.’” (Rev. 19:16)
