Messianic Texts in the Psalms: Psalm 110:1, 4: Lord (אָדוֹן) and Priest (כֹּהֵ֣ן)

Prayer and Bible Expo
Messianic Texts in the Psalms:
Lord (אָדוֹן) and Priest (כֹּהֵ֣ן)

“The LORD says to my Lord
‘Sit at My right hand
Until I make  Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.’(Psa. 110:1)

“The LORD has sworn and will not change His mind,
‘You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.’” (Psa. 110:4)

Then He said to them, ‘How is it that they say the Christ is David’s son? For David himself says in the book of Psalms, “THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, ‘SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET.’” Therefore David calls Him “Lord,” and how is He his son?’” (Luke 20:41-44)

“But to which of the angels has He ever said, ‘SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET’?” (Heb. 1:13)

“which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places”
(Eph. 1:20)

“just as He says also in another passage, ‘YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK.’” (Heb. 5:6)

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” (Heb. 6:19-20)
